
About Dr Miriam Wellauer
Miriam is an experienced GP with a warm and approachable manner who enjoys working in diverse settings. In suburban General Practice, she is particularly interested in women’s, children’s and adolescent health.
She has set up a clinic one day a week at Milpera State High School (an Intensive English Language school for newly arrived young people of refugee and migrant background).
Miriam also holds a Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine, completed at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Brisbane, where she continues to work on the after hours roster. Miriam juggles her work with raising three young kids, trying to reduce her carbon footprint, and tailoring her own clothes.
Special Interests
Miriam offers care for women across the lifespan, including IUD (Mirena) insertion, GP Shared Antenatal Care with the Mater Mothers Hospital for pregnancy management, and menopause management. She has completed the FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health (Family Planning Alliance Australia).
