Patients must see their doctor for their results, it is important that you arrange an appointment in advance so that you can see your doctor within 2 to 4 days of the tests being taken.

On some occasions the doctor will recall you even though the results are normal. This is usually because they were planning further clinical assessment and the initial negative results has excluded some illnesses, but they believe further testing is needed.

If the matter is urgent you will be contacted by phone on three separate occasions to make an appointment for you to see your doctor.   After three phone calls they will send you a letter via registered post to ensure you receive notification.

For non-urgent test results, 2 text messages will be sent to patients with 2 days between each attempt.

If we are still unable to reach you, we will phone once. After three days, we will then send a letter to the patient, and if no action has been made to make an appointment we will record this in the patient’s chart and cease sending recalls.
