What is MyMedicare

Highgate Hill Doctors is a MyMedicare registered clinic. MyMedicare  is a voluntary patient enrolment scheme that the federal government launched in 2024 to encourage greater continuity of care with your registered practice and improve health outcomes.

It offers additional Medicare benefits to patients with a Medicare Card or Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Veteran card.

These additional benefits only apply however, if you are registered with your preferred clinic and preferred doctor with MyMedicare.

Does it cost to register?

No, there are no registration costs involved, and it is a voluntary program you can choose to enrol in.

What are the benefits

At Highgate Hill Doctors, we provide patients with authentic, long-term continuity of care, because we know it leads to better health outcomes. Reinforcing this connection between patients and their GP is a good thing, and that’s why registered our clinic with MyMedicare. As briefly as possible, what this means for you and your family is:

• Greater continuity of care with your chosen / nominated GP
• Longer Medicare-funded telehealth consultations
• Triple bulk billing incentives for longer telehealth appointments for 1) Children under 16 years; 2) Pensioners; and 3) Concession card holders
• Continued bulk billing for chronic disease management plans
• More regular visits and care planning for patients in aged care homes
• Better coordinated care for patients who frequently visit the hospital

We expect the Government will continue to add to these incentives, hence registering Highgate Hill Doctors as your preferred medical centre (and remaining registered with us) will be important to maximise your medical benefits, along with your continuity of care.
