Dr David Eaton graduated with honours from the University of Queensland in 1985. He is a highly experienced, dual-qualified general practitioner. He holds registrations as both a General Practitioner and an Occupational & Environmental Physician.
David has had a significant career working as a GP, as well as working in the field of occupational medicine, which is the practice of recognising, treating and preventing illnesses caused by exposure to biological and chemical triggers in air, food and water that many working people face. His prior roles include Corporate Occupational Physician for Virgin Airlines, Chief Police Medical Officer (Victoria Police), Convenor of Medical Panels (Victoria), Medical Advisor – General Motors (Victoria). He has worked in a wide range of industries, throughout Australia and his work has included clinical, forensic and medical management, as well as general practice in both urban and rural settings.
David has a warm and compassionate approach to general practice, providing empathy, clinical excellence and an immense medical background. We are lucky to have him at Highgate Hill Doctors!
David has moved into the local suburbs with his family back to Queensland from Bendigo, Victoria. His weekends are busy around keeping his 9 year old son occupied and planning his renovation moves on his new house. He is looking forward to becoming part of the local community here.

As the original doctors have became busier and harder to get into see Highgate Hill Doctors have been searching for two new doctors who fit the practice ethos. Catherine has been a great fit and warmly welcomed here by the patients.
Catherine joined the practice in late 2019 and has worked as a GP since 1999. She is a strong believer in the power of General Practice and relishes the chance to change the world one patient at a time. She utilizes her extensive experience in medicine by teaching Med Students, training GPs and is an examiner for College of GPs.
Catherine’s search for knowledge goes on and she often fires up the lunch time case discussions here at Highgate Hill Doctors.
Catherine studied Medicine at the University of Queensland and completed her GP training in Cairns where she lived for ten years. She also has a Masters of Public Health!
She originally was drawn to orthopaedics but broadened out into a love for General Practice. She also spends one day a week as a GP in orthopaedics at Prince Charles Hospital.
Her other interests are skin cancer prevention detection and excision. She has done extra training in minor skin surgery.
Our practice has a special interest in ears and is kitted out with the latest ear microscopes for ear cleaning. Catherine has developed skills in this as well.
Catherine’s Women’s Health and paediatric knowledge is well acknowledged in the practice and she is Aligned at the Mater Mothers Hospital for GP Maternity Shared care.
Outside of work her time is filled with juggling family, dog, cat, and house renovation (does anyone know a good chippie?) while still finding time ride her bike and cheer her daughter on at netball.
